I realize I haven’t updated the blog since the last RFF meets in June, so before reporting this weekend’s meet, here is a quick catch-up. We spent the summer at the dog shows, where I’d hoped to finish one or both of Lark’s conformation titles before she is bred this fall. Alas, the closest we [...]
I think it must be getting really boring for me to continue to post after each and every Racing For Fun meet about the wonderful time I had, and in any event there just aren’t enough superlatives in the dictionary. But I just can’t help it. There just isn’t a better group of people in [...]
Last night, in preparation for today’s race meet, I brought in all the muzzles from the car to replace the tattered remains of the vetwrap I’d applied a couple of years ago to pad the sharper edges. The dogs saw the muzzles and general mayhem ensued as they all tried, simultaneously, to stuff their faces [...]
I’ve been spending some time here and there over the last few weeks updating the website’s style after switching to the Thesis theme. You’ve probably noticed some changes to the navigation (drop-down menus and breadcrumbs), changes to the links in the right column, among others. Stay tuned for more as time permits…
Today, instead of going [...]

We spent the weekend up in Abbotsford, BC at RFF’s CWA meets, always my very favorite events and this time was no exception… well, except for the truly dreadful weather. Saturday was one of the soggiest race meets in recent memory, with cold, hard driving rain and bitter cold winds nearly all day. Despite the [...]

Tiercel, Lark and I arrived home early this morning from the CWA National in Nottingham, PA. The flights out and back were uneventful, the weekend was a wonderful exhibition of showing, racing and good sportsmanship, and MAWRA did a wonderful job hosting a first class national!
Tiercel raced very well in the hugely competitive national entry. [...]

We had a great weekend racing and showing at RFF’s CWA meets in Abbotsford, BC!
Lark won the conformation match both days! Thank you judges Mary Downing (Whimsy) and Barb Barclay (Fireworks)! Pictured at right winning a CWA match last month under judge Carole Adley (Hilerica), Lark is currently the #1 CWA conformation whippet! Winning these [...]
On Saturday we attended the Lower Mainland Whippet Association specialty show at Peace Arch Park just over the border in BC. Branwen made it into the ribbons in both the 9-12 puppy bitch sweeps and regular classes: she was 4th in the sweeps class under Gale Lyttle (Galeforce) and 4th in the regular class under [...]
On the way to visit family in central California, we attended the NCWFA CWA meets in Suisun over the weekend and had a wonderful time. Tiercel finished 4th in the meet both days, picking up the bottom set of 2 ARX points each day, bringing his total to 5. He also won the match on Saturday! [...]
