I can help.

Organization

While I am not a professional or formally trained web designer, I have been actively designing and maintaining websites since 1998, and can offer a variety of website design and maintenance services at an affordable price. My extensive work in libraries has helped me develop strong skills in the organization of information, and my professional responsibilities include designing and presenting information in logically organized, navigable ways. If you’ve ever tried to navigate a poorly organized website, and thrown your hands up in frustration before finding what you’re looking for, you know exactly why this is so important!

Flexibility

In addition to the Serendipity Whippets website, I have designed and maintain a variety of websites (see Portfolio for examples) and would love to talk to you about your website needs. I can create an original design based on your specifications, or can cut down on development time by helping you find freely available or premium themes that meet your needs. I can code a static website for you, or can install, customize, and maintain dynamic website applications like Wordpress and Joomla. I can help you navigate the many confusing options for web hosting and domain registration.

Knowledge

As an avid dog fancier, I am intimately familiar with the specialized jargon and special features (e.g. pedigree pages) of dog-related websites, and would be happy to help you develop an organized and professional-looking online presence.

Ad Design

I have also done some ad design, mostly for myself and friends, and would be happy to design ads for print or online publications.
