Jonah is one of my two keepers from the Lark litter. I never intended to keep a male from this litter, but the week before the puppies were due to go off to their new homes, my 2nd pick male home fell through. I realized that I really liked this puppy very much, and was very attached to him, and so in the end I decided to just keep him afterall. I jokingly say he was my “impulse purchase.” I was glad none of the other puppy buyers had chosen the name “On A Lark” because it just fit the situation so perfectly it just had to be his.
Jonah is a wonderful, unflappable, outgoing little guy: sweet, affectionate, and biddable. Of all the pups in his litter, he is the one who most resembles his mother, though he blends the best features of both his parents. His joie de vivre and enthusiasm are infectious! He is a rabid frisbee dog and would happily play frisbee all day, each and every day, if only I could keep up my half of the bargain!
I look foward to his accomplishments on the race track, in the field and in the show ring. Mostly I’m so glad that I’m the lucky one who gets to share my life with this wonderful little man.
In the ring…
Jonah made his official debut in the show ring at the tender age of not quite four months at the 2010 CWA Annual match in Aldergrove, BC. He showed his little heart out and was awarded Best Puppy by breeder-judge Karen Lee of Surrey Hill whippets. What a thrill!
On the track…
Jonah made his CWA debut on July 23 and now with seven meets under his belt, is proving to be a clean, focused and very enthusiastic racer who has improved his meet score with every meet. He is now running a high grade C/low grade B score and I think he will continue to improve. He has done well in the CWA matches too, with a DPC credit in his very first match.
The future…
Jonah looks forward to continuing his CWA racing career in 2012, and will add NAWRA and NOTRA racing to his list of activities. I am also looking forward to his lure coursing and show ring debuts.
